Acknowledgment of the Land and Its People

The North Andover Historical Society respectfully acknowledges that the lands on which we operate are situated on the traditional territory of the Pennacook, Pawtucket, & Massachusett Nations and all peoples of the Wabanaki Confederacy. We honor the modern-day Abenaki, Agawam, Naumkeag, Wampanoag, Pokanoket, and Nipmuc Nations, and all family lineages lost or remembered who inhabited and traveled this land and its waters. We are committed to learning from and amplifying Indigenous voices, fostering enduring understanding, and assisting the ongoing presence and contributions of Indigenous peoples within our community. We honor all Indigenous peoples who are here now, will be here in the future, and have been here since time immemorial.

To seek, save, and share North Andover history!

The North Andover Historical Society’s mission is to be a hub for culture, history, preservation, and community engagement. Using its multiple properties, the Society hosts programs and collects, preserves, and shares material that reflects the region's identity, excites the imagination, and promotes a sustainable society. With its roots as a history-focused educational institution, the Society has been, and remains, an active and vibrant center of activity for those who call North Andover and the greater Merrimack Valley home.
