Ongoing Lecture Series

The yearly lecture program is a mix of presentations by members of the Historical Society and local residents based on their own on-going historical research and scholars who will discuss various topics of general interest. These lectures are open to members and the general public. Past topics have included the witchcraft trials of 1692, First Period Houses, and the Tavern Acres historic district.

Other Programs

The North Andover Historical Society offers a variety of activities throughout the year. These include the annual Trails and Sails walking tour, Harvest Day Festival, and the Holiday Open House. Other programs can include bus and walking tours based on the architectural history of the town.

Upcoming Events

Thursday, March 26th 10-11:30 am:                       Behind the Scenes –House History 101
This year’s session will introduce doing your our House History research, bashed on the resources at the Society’s archives.  A tour of the library will follow the presentation.


Free for members; $5 for non members.
Snow date:  April 2nd.

Wednesday, April 22nd, 1-3 pm:                               Adventures in Time Vacation Workshop
Vacation workshop for children 7-13. Learn the craft of rug braiding to begin a beautiful small size rug for your favorite toy.


Members: $5; nonmembers:$8.  Space is limited and reservations required.

Monday, June 1st, 10am-3pm                                Textile Care on a Shoestring

$25 for the day, lunch NOT included Learn the basics of textile preservation and cost cutting tips and techniques.  Small museums, historical societies and individuals caring for their family heirlooms should plan to attend this session lead by professional textile conservator, Camille Breeze. Look for the registration form on the Society's website during the month of March.  

July 6-10, 9:30am-2:30pm                                                Adventures in Time: Life as a Baby Boomer

August 3-7, 9:30am -2:30pm                                                                 Adventures in Time: Threads of History

$140 per session, $250 for two weeks.  10% Sibling discount. 20% Members' discount. Another summer of field trips, crafts, cooking and lots of fun.
