WITCH WAY TO SALEM?

North Andover Witchcraft History Tours 2024

It's a safe bet that most people in the region have heard of the 1692 Salem Witchcraft Trials. They may not realize that they were named as such because Salem is where the court was located and those who were found guilty were executed. However, the trials affected most of the towns north of Boston.

Andover had 45 accusations of witchcraft, which was more than any other community. The town had a population of 600 people; about half of them were involved, either as accusers or an accused.

Witchcraft trials expert Richard Hite, author of In The Shadow of Salem, and Carol Majahad, former director/educator of the North Andover Historical Society, will host a tour of North Andover locations that were involved in the witchcraft trials. Attendees will see and learn about the Parson Barnard House, the Old Burial Ground, Rev. Francis Dane and his home, and the location of the meeting house.

Join Salem Historical Tours for the North Andover Witchcraft History Tour this Saturday from 11AM - 12:30 PM.
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased HERE. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the North Andover Historical Society.

Parking is available on Academy Road, adjacent to the Old Burial Ground. This tour is arranged and promoted by SalemHistoricalTours.com
